From Delhi

Ranikhet Express runs daily and is the overnight train from Delhi, originating in Jaipur. It offers 1st AC, 2nd AC, 3rd AC & Sleeper Class.

Departs Jaipur at 14.35 hrs / Departs Gurgaon at 19.45 hrs / Departs Old Delhi Railway Station at 22.40 hrs .

Arrives Kathgodam 05.05 hrs

Shatabdi is a day train that runs daily and offers Executive AC Chair & AC Chair Car.

Departs Delhi, at 06.00 / arrives Kathgodam at 11.50 hrs.

From Kolkata

Howrah Express runs on Fridays. It leaves Howrah station in the morning and arrives in Lal Kuan station the following morning, via Varanasi. Located not far from Kathgodam Station, 13 km, we can arrange a driver to meet you if you wish.

From Dehradun, in Gharwal, Uttarakhand

Dehradun Kathgodam Express is an overnight train that runs every day and offers 1st AC, 2nd AC Sleeper & Sleeper Class.

Howrah Express to Kolkata, via Varanasi

Departs Lal Kuan station at 18.35 hrs on Saturdays / arrives Howrah, Kolkata at 18.55 hrs next evening.

Lal Kuan station is not far from Kathgodam Station, 13 km.

To Dehradun, in Gharwal, Uttarakhand

Kathgodam Dehradun Express

Departs Kathgodam at 19.45 hrs / arrival Dehradun at 04-20 hrs.

By Road

Delhi to Almora is 380 km and takes around 8-10 hrs. We recommend you leave early to avoid traffic out of Delhi.

Option 1

Delhi to Almora, via Nainital

This is the most preferred option which we would recommend.

Delhi – Hapur – Gajraula – Moradabad – Rampur. At Rampur turn left towards Bazpur via Suar and head towards Kaladhungi.

Proceed onwards to Nainital. From there drive to Bhowali, turn left and drive onto to Garampani, then Khairna and straight onto Kwarab. At Kwarab turn left over bridge to Almora.

At first junction called Karbala, turn right uphill. At the next junction go left into the town of Almora.

Once inside Almora town, drive past the Bright End Corner and head for Shikhar Hotel on the left. Take the right turn uphill on the Jail Road (closed 3-4 pm) past the historic Almora jail (only 7km to AyurVAID Kalmatia). Take left at the Fire Station. At the next junction (NTD small market) turn right. Then take first left turn, sharply uphill, on the Upper Binsar Road.

From here you are 10 minutes from AyurVAID Kalmatia. You are heading for Kasar Devi.

Option 2

Delhi to Almora, via Bhimtal

Delhi – Hapur – Gajraula – Moradabad – Rampur. At Rampur turn left towards Bilaspur, Udham Singh Nagar onwards through Haldwani to Kathgodam.

Kathgodam – Bhimtal – Bhowali. At Bhowali turn right and drive onto to Garampani, then Khairna and straight onto Kwarab. At Kwarab turn left over bridge to Almora.

Corbett National Park & Tiger Reserve to AyurVAID Kalmatia 135 km and takes 5½ hrs, via Nainital or Ranikhet.
